Rates Search Widget

You are welcomed to use the SmartHippo's "rates search widget" to enhance your site or blog. This widget gives your visitors an open door to freshly-updated mortgage rates from anywhere in the US.

How to install the widget?

Step1Copy the widget HTML code.

Click the box below and copy the code ("Ctrl-C" on a PC or "⌘-C" on a Mac).

Step2Paste the widget HTML code on your website.

On the Active Rain platform:

  1. Log on to ActiveRain.
  2. In the left column (on your home page), click on the "Settings" link.
  3. In the "Blog Settings" section, paste the SmartHippo widget HTML code in the "Blog Description" box.
  4. Click on "Update" button of the "Blog Settings" section in order to save your changes.
  5. You should now see the SmartHippo widget on your blog.

On the Blogger platform:

  1. Log on to Blogger.
  2. Click on the "Layout" link for the blog on which you want to put up the SmartHippo widget.
  3. On the layout page, click on "Add a gadget" link.
  4. Choose the "HTML/JavaScript" gadget by clicking on it, which changes the window to "Configure HTML/Javascript".
  5. Write a "Title" for the SmartHippo (e.g. "Rates Search Widget"). In the "Content" section, paste the SmartHippo widget HTML code.
  6. Click on the "Save" button in order to save your changes.
  7. You should now see the SmartHippo widget on your blog.

On the WordPress platform:

  1. Log on to the Administrator section of your blog (i.e. the url ending with /wp-admin/index.php).
  2. Go to the "Appearance>>Widgets" section.
  3. From the list of "Available Widgets", click "Add" for the "Text" widget. A text widget will now appear under "Current Widget" in the right column.
  4. Click on the "edit" link for this new text widget. It will expand and show two sections.
  5. In the first section write the widget name (e.g. "Rates Search Widget"). In the second section paste the SmartHippo widget HTML code.
  6. Click on the "Done" button.
  7. Click on the "Save Changes" button in order to save your changes.
  8. You should now see the SmartHippo widget on your blog.

On other platforms:

If you are not using one of the platforms above, this is no problem. The widget will work on any site, anywhere on a page, since this is simple HTML code (no Javascript).
